Well.my thoughts about Writing for Engineering class: for this classI am taking this class as here for learning ,improving my writing skills by my effort:How i can improve my writing skills by using ideas, concepts skills as how to be a professional written?
My Reflections about writing for engineering
Concerning this semester, I mean fall 2024. I guess this class is a major-based class . Hmm well this class title is Writing for Engineering. I am currently programming as a STEM major. (Bachelor of Engineering) at the City College of New York.is that the reason i am taking? hmm I am taking this class based by major but its not quite clear. The main point is i am taking this class to improving my writing skills that may assist my future writing class as guidance. For the first time, I am going to take this class. Honestly, I have no idea about this class. No idea. What will happen to me? Am I going to do bad or well and what i will learn learn about writing regarding my programming and future writing classes when I take them? Oh no…so scared!!. Let’s see! For any English class, I have plenty of expectations and opportunities about how I can improve my writing, cite properly, and gain my writing skills. One of my writing uses trouble finding evidence, and I make many spelling mistakes while writing paragraphs and essays. The significant issues are that I am a foreign student and English is my second language. I don’t know how much I can develop or make it correct for this class.
My writing for engineering just started on August 28, 2024, at 12:30 sharp. I am completely stressed out and don’t know what to do. When I met my writing for an engineering professor. My writing engineering professor’s name is Adam Babrow. He sounds, bro, bruh, completely funny. When I met him, he seemed loyal, friendly, and pleasant. He said no worries. Maya (my nickname), whatever I give you as feedback, make sure you do your best to follow, and you can improve your writing skills. The central point is to ensure you put your efforts into the work by following my instructions, and then you will be fine. I got confidence in myself. The first assignment was a paragraph that introduced me. ‘The Vocalist”I wrote everything in my own words. Just a few days ago, my professor reviewed my work. He gave me some feedback, which was to focus on my grammar, and I missed my grammar issues. My paragraph was quite interesting, and I got good scores. At that time, I felt better and got confident about what I had to do. In this topic I love singing which is one of my favorite talentI love singing classical. Bangla and English songs. Also love to drawing such as cartoons, designs etc.
The main assignments that started were the cover letter job posting and resume assignment. Mr. B is trying to teach how to write a cover letter, build a resume, and research job postings. He explained what to do step by step. He showed us how to write a cover letter, resume, and job posting if you are doing internships or jobs. The good thing is he gave us a page of instructions on what I had to do. I was too nervous and worried about how I would do it. How am I going to research? I have my LinkedIn account, where there are a lot of experiences and activities I have done so far and built my own (resume) . I also took a screenshot about that (Job posting) via linkedin. I had used both docs then started to write a (cover letter )As an experience, in the future, when I apply for any job, I have to submit what I am doing. It was such a fantastic experience. I emailed my professor for peer reviewing to get feedback, like, What did I make mistakes and what should I improve? Mr. Babrow said it was okay and thanks for volunteering for that. It really will be helpful for others. The professor showed us my mistakes and what I should improve for the next class. That was helpful for me when he was giving feedback. I also got help from my classmate, who helped me a lot. That means I am on track (improving my writing issues). After everything is done, I staple three pages like the professor advises on how to staple professionally, and then I submit by following the instructions. we also go over the reading text book and researched by cony literary books.
The second assignment was a lab report. I don’t even know what I am going to do. In my life, I have made lab reports for several types of science classes, such as physics, chemistry, and medical labs. Every instructor has different thoughts, like how to do a lab report. But for Mr. B, he should give instructions on what I have to follow. He showed us examples of dice, like what I had to do and what I would research for the lab. I started researching plenty of labs in the CCNY Liberty; there were several articles and books for lab reports. However, my article needs to be scholarly. Scoralty articles are those types of articles that have an abstract on them.
I researched and made my next assignment which is a lab report. The title of my lab report is -(Rolling Dice outcome) At the start, I made a title and subtitle.Tried to follow the instructions that Mr. B gave.Hmm I’m figuring it out. Firstly, I am researching what I have to do in the lab. This lab was quite interesting to me. I was studying some scholarly or specific articles that can go to my lab. Finally, I found an article that needed to be more academic, but a lot of particular information was involved. The fun part was rolling the dice 100 times and then calculating the sum of how many outcomes I got so far. I made some numbers for my data and created a bar graph. I analyzed the graph and data on how I did it and what method I used to complete the procedure. I compared my experiment to the article that I had researched so far. Created my work cited and reference. I am almost done with the central part. The exciting part came from the appendix . Previously, I rolled the dice 100 times and then recorded my solutions of the sum I got. It ultimately was an incredible experiment. My highest outcome was 12 when I did, and my lowest outcome was 2. For more information I researched one scholarly article for for some information and try to make some compearism that i have done so far with my experiment.
The third assignment was a group proposal, another way to say it’s a group project.I used to work with three more people which is 4 people. The project of the title was “building with Beavers” , such an interesting title that I and my group had chosen. .My one partner who is calculating about the queefer like how much it needs to build. And I suggest to my partners how everything will be organize.like work like organizer. like how you are going to build the place for a people’s facility. Regarding the assignment, we tried to create a food court on the first floor. The reason is most students who live far away are not able to get something to eat. Without eating, students can get sick and come to college. That’s why we’re creating a food court. We also tried to create a car parking area outside the building. Because some students/staff do drive and are able to park their car outside, that’s why we are creating a parking slot. For the second and third floors, we try to create some indoor and outdoor games because at college students mostly feel tired because of college work, part-time jobs, etc. Also creating some rooms, such as a nap area where people can sleep in the hangout room if they feel tired. For this reason, we can also hang out with each other. For creating indoor/outdoor games, students can keep their minds cool by enjoying playing. For everything, when I was discussing with my parents, I was feeling like I was working as an architecture. Like building those things for students.
On the next assignment, which is about technical description, this assignment will have to be related to my major. . As I am majoring in a bachelor of engineering, especially Biomedical Engineering, I have researched several examples based on radiology, such as x-ray, CT scan, and endoscopy; however, MRI was the topic that was interesting to me because of the full form, which is magnetic resonance imaging. About magnetic and the imaging word (the picture) and magnetic (made by magnetic field)d.Sumaya Liana Radiology-MRI .For this assignment, I am required to make a poster or display case, as I have to present to the teacher and students. My presentation date was December 4.For this presentation, I had researched 2 scholarly articles and one regular article at CCNY online libraries. I also went over sources for taking pictures and read some information about the facts and functions pertaining to MRI. for writing about facts, introductions, and everything using scholarly articles & research articles. . The author named Raymond V. Damedrian, who was born in March 1936. . Mostly he and his one student named Paul L both tried to create and try to make more development so MRI can be easy to use for all radiologists/doctors. The Main purpose of this making to Damedrian is for those people who are affected by any chronic disease, cancer, diagnosis so people will understand what problem they are facing and what treatment, such as surgery ,or medication they require. .causeIn vintage times, when there was no invention of MRI, people died at a young age because they did not know what diseases or diagnoses they were facing. . After the invention of MRI, people go to the hospital, then do MRI, and as a result, they understand by MRI imaging what problems they are dealing with. . I choose this topic because of those interesting facts and information about MRI. . It costs $100,000 to $5 million to organize an MRI machine at the hospital. . MRIs use protons, which are positively charged, and have strong magnetic fields. If there is no proton charging or magnetic field, the image would not get clear inside the part of the body. . In my opinion, MRI is a very cool tool for scanning patients’ parts of the body. If you compare it with an X-ray or CT scan, I can guarantee it, like what CT scan or X-ray features it has that an MRI does not. . MRI can image your bones, tissue, livers, and brains, whereas X-rays only scan your bones. A CT scan only scans inside of your head. When I was presenting in the class to a student and professor, I felt I booked so much information about the MRI that a radiologist/doctor does. But it was so interesting that as an engineering student, I understood how much I was about learning radiology tools by researching and presenting. It really means a lot to me.
In conclusion, taking this writing class has impacted me excellently in terms of my writing skills, especially in how to make sentences and grammar, which improved significantly. The main point is that taking this class provides critical insights and learnings from the reflected experience. Once again I am not taking this class as writing for engineering. I am here to learn about writing skills.
