Dear Hiring Manager:

Hello, my name is Sumaya Liana. I am a Biomedical (Bachelor of Engineering) student at The City College of New York. I am responding because recently I had been researching varieties of STEM part-time jobs, internships, and full-time jobs on LinkedIn. As a college student, I am really interested in doing some  internship STEM-based jobs. I have chosen to work as a laboratory technician as an internship. I am excited for this position in your company. The Hospital of Special Surgery because your company has very strong rates/keypoints, such as researching, cleaning, catalogs and operation materials, etc. That’s why I am writing this cover letter to you. Becoming a laboratory technician may guide my future, which includes a desire for assisting people, solving problems, a sense of responsibility, giving guidance about health concerns, and more. Also, as a programmer in biomedical engineering, I can research and build many medical materials and discover more things with my group.Thats why I believe I am a good  candidate for this job (laboratory technician) because of my activities.

For my qualifications, my achievement is an overall 90% average in math and science courses at school and earned an advanced regents diploma because of achieving a high score in  nine regents exams. For my leadership skills, such as being a peer leader at high school, I led 50-60 freshman students about some skills like how to be punctual for your work as well as maintaining time management. Taking pictures and arranging, designing pages for the yearbook. At high school, I made some research projects for chemical studies such as catalysis, polymer, biochemical testing, etc. for analyzing chemical compounds and molecular structure in the science fair. Also cleaned items at the laboratory, such as washing all beakers, flasks, tables, etc. at the school laboratory. In the biology lab, I experienced researching genetics, cell DNA/RNA human structure, using x-ray machines, cleaning materials such as lab tools, sanitizing safety glasses, mopping floors if there are any spills  and cleaning the board at the physics club at my college. Those experiences will be helpful for work as a lab technician as an internship.
